WORSHIP

What to Expect When You Visit

Welcome

St. Francis invites you to join us in worship each Sunday at 9:30am. All are welcome.

Communion

All are welcome at the St. Francis altar rail. If you are a baptized Christian, we welcome you to partake of Holy Communion with us. You may partake of the blessed Body and Blood of Christ (consecrated communion wafer and wine). We offer wine using both the common cup and by intinction. You are also welcome to approach the altar rail for a blessing from the priest.

Children are Welcome

St. Francis is blessed to have a thriving children’s ministry. Each week during the service, the children are invited to attend “Godly Play” where they participate in activities to encourage their faith and provide meaningful fellowship. Many of our youth also participate as altar servers during our weekly Eucharist.

St. Francis youth are active participants in the Ecumenical Youth Group. This group offers teens a place to connect, grow spiritually, and serve others. They build lasting friendships through regular gatherings, discussion, service projects, and fun activities while deepening their faith journey together. St. Francis partners with two other congregations in the City of Norris to provide these activities and programs throughout the year.

Safe Church, Safe Communities

The Episcopal Diocese of East Tennessee and the parish of St. Francis are committed to protecting each child of God. Sexual misconduct on the part of any clergy person, employee, or volunteer of any congregation, school, or diocesan affiliated organization violates the mission of the Church, is prohibited and will not be tolerated. St. Francis participates in the Diocesan program called Safe Church, Safe Communities. These courses teach how exploitation and harassment occur, the awareness we need to prevent such occurrences, and how to respond, should an incident of exploitation or harassment occur. We strongly encourage each person in the church to take Safe Church, Safe Communities.
